Roy Helu donates hair for cancer patients

ASHBURN, Va., — Redskins running back Roy Helu didn’t want to play another season with a bundle of hair tucked into his helmet, or falling out of it. He also knew his hair could do some good.

So he and his wife, Danielle, recently cut their hair and donated it to the American Cancer Society via Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths program, creating wigs for cancer patients.

“This is the third or fourth time I’ve grown my hair [long],” Helu said.
