Stephen Hill: Former Jets teammate Sanchez will test Panthers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Quarterback Mark Sanchez and wide receiver Stephen Hill looked like a match made in football heaven during the 2012 opener for the New York Jets.

Sanchez connected with the second-round pick out of Georgia Tech five times for 89 yards, including touchdowns of 33 and 17 yards. It was only the fifth time in the past 25 years that a rookie receiver scored twice in his first game.

The Jets won 48-21.

Fast-forward to Monday night’s game between the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles.
